The CoLab.upm platform is an adaptation of the Climate CoLab, developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Collective Intelligence (MIT CCI). CoLab.upm implements the software originally developed for the Climate CoLab and mimics its working strategy. It was created and is being used in the context of a collaboration involving MIT CCI and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM).
The goal of Climate CoLab is to harness the collective intelligence of thousands of people from all around the world to address complex societal problems, starting with global climate change.
Inspired by systems like Wikipedia and Linux, Climate CoLab is an open problem-solving platform where a growing community of over 115,000 people -- including hundreds of the world’s leading experts on climate change and related fields -- work on and evaluate plans to reach global climate change goals.
